Understanding ADHD & Supporting Students to Thrive
Finding the Barrier | Cohort-Based Problem Solving
Executive functioning — not IQ, not attitude — is the single biggest predictor of school success for students with ADHD. But not every child struggles with the same skills. This workshop is a collaborative, diagnostic process: we work with educators to identify which executive functioning skills children in a specific cohort are lagging in, then build practical, classroom-wide solutions together.
Working in small, similar year-level groups means strategies are developmentally appropriate and immediately usable. And here’s the key insight: when we design classrooms that support children with ADHD, every child in the room benefits.
The six executive functioning skills we explore:
How it works:
Understanding Your Child | Reducing Overwhelm at Home
Parents are your most important partners — and often the most under-supported. When families understand ADHD and have practical strategies at home, everything improves: attendance, homework completion, emotional regulation, and your school’s relationship with that family.
Topics include:
Understanding Your Brain | Building Skills for School & Life
Students with ADHD are often the last to understand why school feels so hard for them. When they finally get it — when someone explains their brain in a way that clicks — it’s a turning point. Our sessions are ADHD-friendly by design: visual, engaging, fast-paced, and built around strengths.
Students explore:
One-to-One & Small Group Student Coaching
Individual or small group | Coordinated with your wellbeing team
Some students need more than a presentation. In-school coaching provides consistent, structured support that builds the skills ADHD students need most — right in the environment where they need them. Unlike external therapy, our coaching is practical and school-embedded, working on real goals in real situations.

Ongoing Collaborative Support for Educators
Working with a student with ADHD can feel like you’re doing everything right and nothing is working. Teacher mentoring gives you a thinking partner — someone with deep ADHD expertise who can help you problem-solve specific situations in real time. This is not supervision. It is practical, confidential, collaborative support.
Mentoring can include:
Rather than isolated presentations, we work collaboratively with schools to build sustainable ADHD-informed practice across staff, students, and families. Schools can combine any of our services into a tailored package.
Every package is co-designed around your school’s size, staffing, and goals — Joan can put together a no-obligation quote once we understand what you need.
