This weekly small-group coaching session supports Year 7 students as they navigate the transition into secondary school. Together with a REACH coach, students will build practical executive functioning skills, develop effective routines and strategies, and learn tools to help them manage homework, organisation, motivation, friendships, and the increased independence that comes with starting high school.
Starting secondary school is a big transition. Students are often managing multiple teachers, different classrooms, changing timetables, increased homework, new routines, and greater expectations for independence — all while adjusting to a new environment.
These sessions provide a supportive space for students to build confidence, understand how their ADHD may affect them at school, practise practical strategies, and develop the skills they need to feel more organised, capable, and in control as they settle into Year 7.
